Update 2/27/2012: Be sure to check out the recent posts about RecycleMania and the new bike maintenance repair stand on campus!

It’s time to recycle like you’ve never recycled before! RecycleMania is a friendly competition among college and university recycling programs in North America and Canada. During 8 weeks each spring, schools compete to reduce waste, increase recycling, and raise awareness of conservation issues across campus. This year’s competition runs from February 3rd- March 30th!

Do your part by dropping your plastic, aluminum, glass, and paper in the appropriate recycling bins on campus–it’s that easy!

In 2012′s competition, Northeastern only recycled 19.15% of its overall waste generation- the winner recycled 85.16% We can do better in 2013!

Have an idea on how to make NU’s campus more sustainable? Make it a reality with the Renewable Energy Initiatives Board! The REIB is comprised of SGA Senators, Students at Large, and Student Group Representatives and hears proposals year round for projects designed by students, administrators, faculty, and 3rd parties to create renewable energy on campus. The Board funds projects meeting all requirements outlined in the REIB manual with funds from the Renewable Energy Fund (REF).  You can contribute to the REF by logging into myNEU, clicking the NUPay button, and clicking the “Make Payment” option.

Want to join the REIB? There may be spots available- you can find the application on SGA’s Orgsync page!

If you have any questions regarding the REIB, feel free to email the chair, Mary Corrado:
