Job Roles and Responsibilities

The role of the Director of Retail and Dining Initiatives will be to assist the Vice President for Student Services in addressing student concerns on issues relating to the dining and retail operations of the Northeastern community.  To that end, the Director of Retail and Dining will have the responsibility to:

  • Sit on the Student Services Committee;
  • Sit on the Food Advisory Committee and deliver pertinent updates to the Vice President for Student Services and the Student Services Committee
  • Oversee initiatives with a focus on dining, vending, and retail spaces on campus;
  • Propose new projects for consideration by the Association;
  • Provide pertinent information to the Director of Public Relations in order to communicate information on new projects and improvements;
  • Maintain an open line of communication with student groups and university offices that have a focus on dining and retail practices; and
  • Research similar institutions’ retail and dining operational practices.

The Director of Retail and Dining Initiatives will serve a term that ends at the conclusion of Summer I, and can be removed at will if he or she fails to perform the duties of the Director of Retail and Dining Initiatives.  Should he or she be removed prior to the end of the term, applications will re-open and another Senator may be appointed.

Quick Fixes

A Student alerted Amanda Sabia, VP of Academic Affairs, that a 3-hole punch in the library was misaligned.  Amanda told her contact at the library and the 3-hole punch was adjusted later that day.
