The role of the Director of Public Relations will be to assist the Vice President of Administration & Public Relations with any and all contact between the Association and the student body and media organizations.  To that end, the Director of Public Relations will have the responsibility to:

  • Sit on the Administration & Public Relations Committee;
  • Act as a the initial contact for media organizations wishing to get in touch with the Association and its members;
  • Work with the Association President, Vice Presidents, Directors, and Liaisons in promoting Association initiatives, events, and special projects;
  • Assist the Parliamentarian in the creation of the promotion plan for direct elections and oversee the plan’s execution;
  • Oversee the production and maintenance of Association newsletters;
  • Produce and catalog press releases for Association accomplishments and events;
  • Catalog contact between Association members and media organizations; and
  • Catalog press coverage pertaining to the Association.

The Director of Public Relations will serve a term that ends at the conclusion of Summer I, and can be removed if he or she fails to perform the duties of the Director of Public Relations.  Should he or she be removed prior to the end of the term, applications will re-open and another Senator may be appointed.

Quick Fixes

A Student alerted Amanda Sabia, VP of Academic Affairs, that a 3-hole punch in the library was misaligned.  Amanda told her contact at the library and the 3-hole punch was adjusted later that day.

The Student Government Association office is located at 332 Curry Student Center. A representative will be available to assist you during the following hours.
