The role of the Director of Inclusion Initiatives will be to assist the Vice President for Student Affairs in facilitating a harmonious campus environment, characterized by a sense of comfort for all students of varying backgrounds, ideas, beliefs, and lifestyles. To that end, the Director of Inclusion Initiatives will have the responsibility to:

• Sit on the Student Affairs Committee;
• Oversee initiatives with a focus on fostering inclusion and harmony by celebrating the identity and diversity of the Northeastern community;
• Maintain open lines of communication with:
  • the Office of Institutional Diversity and Equity,
  • University cultural centers, and
  • student groups that have a focus on building an inclusive community;
• Provide pertinent information to the Director of Public Relations in order to communicate information on new projects and initiatives; and
• Research similar institutions’ inclusive programs and policies.

The Director of Inclusion Initiatives will serve a term that ends at the conclusion of Summer I, and can be removed at will if he or she fails to perform the duties of the Director of Inclusion Initiatives. Should he or she be removed prior to the end of the term, applications will re-open and another Senator may be appointed.
