About

The Legislative Branch is responsible for expressing the will of the student body. The Senate composes the Legislative Branch, and is the deliberative body from which all authority vested in the Association originates.

Powers and Responsibilities

  • Represents the voice of the student body
  • Recommends to the University President proposed legislation for approval or rejection regarding University life, policies, and concerns of the student body
  • Approves The Association's budget before submission to the Budget Review Committee
  • May override an Executive veto
  • Approves the solicitation of donations and any other resources from students by or for any outside organization
  • Approves requests by political candidates to obtain access to the University in the absence of other recognized Northeastern sponsoring organizations or units
  • Can impeach an Executive officer from the Association
  • Retains all other powers vested in the Association not specifically reserved by the Constitution and Bylaws

Quick Fixes

A Student alerted Amanda Sabia, VP of Academic Affairs, that a 3-hole punch in the library was misaligned.  Amanda told her contact at the library and the 3-hole punch was adjusted later that day.

Office Hours

The Student Government Association office is located at 332 Curry Student Center. A representative will be available to assist you during the following hours.

Monday 11 am - 6 pm
Tuesday 10 am - 6 pm
Wednesday 11 am - 8 pm
Thursday 11 am - 6 pm
Friday 10 am - 6 pm
Saturday None
