BRC Workshops are July 9th and 10th, 7pm in 320 CSC. In order to be eligible to request funding for early Fall 2008 semester, the treasurer must attend ONE of these. More BRC Workshops will not be held until September.

Adjourning early Tuesday morning, the Student Government Association has successfully elected its 2008-2009 executive board. President Elect Rob Ranley will be leading the Student Body with the following executive board:

Erin Pritchard, Vice President for Student Affairs
Michelle McNeilly, Vice President for Academic Affairs
Emma Brancaccio, Vice President for Administration and Public Relations
Jennifer Hardy, Vice President for Financial Affairs
Ryan Fox, Vice President for Student Services

The new executive board will officially take office on July 1, 2008.

In an overwhelming majority, Rob Ranley was elected with 61% of the vote to become the 2008-2009 Student Body President.

Earlier this evening, the Joint Senate of the Student Government Association voted the block to Senator Kamyck's nomination down, allowing him to continue as a candidate in the race.

March 27, 2008

Senator Daniel Kamyck has accepted an emergency nomination to run for Student Body President against Vice President Ranley. A block was put on the nomination. An emergency Joint Senate will convene this Monday, March 31st, to hear the issue.

Vice President for Student Affairs Marines Piney has suspended her bid for the Presidency, leaving Vice President Ranley as an uncontested candidate.

Tonight will be the first debate between the candidates for Student Body President for the 2008-2009 academic year. Come to the West Addition in the Curry Student Center at 7:30 P.M. to see the Northeastern News sponsored debate between Rob Ranley and Marines Piney.

Last night at the Joint Senate session of the association, Presidential Nominations were held, and yielded two candidates for the second year of Direct Elections. SGA Vice President for Financial Affairs Rob Ranley and Vice President for Student Affairs Marines Piney will be campaigning for the next month. Don't forget to see them in their first debate, sponsored by the Northeastern News, this Thursday at 7:30 PM in the Curry Student Center West Addition.

BUDGET REVIEW COMMITTEE WORKSHOP The next BRC Workshop will be held at 12pm on Wednesday, October 17th, in room 333 CSC.

The first Budget Review Committee Workshop will be held on September 12th at 12pm in 342 Curry Student Center. There will also be a BRC Workshop held on September 9th during Greek Summit for all eligible Greek organizations. Future dates and locations are: -October 10, 12pm, 333 CSC -November 14, 12pm, 333 CSC -January 16, 12pm, 322 CSC -February 20, 12pm, 322 CSC Remember that an organization's Treasurer MUST have attended a BRC Workshop before that organization can request funding for any program. Email reminders will be sent to all organizations as we get closer to the above dates.

Stop by the library quad from 12 to 2 on Monday, March 12 for the Campus Invasion BBQ! Just fill out a quick survey and grab a bite to eat. SGA senators will be stationed around campus to talk to you, as well as giving students rides to class on golf carts! Stop by, and don't forget to ask them about voting in the N.U.D.E!! Presidential candidates for the N.U.D.E. will be nominated at an open joint senate in 335 Shillman at 7 PM on Monday night. All are welcome to attend!

The Student Government Association (SGA) approved a Sense of the Senate on Thursday approving the Board of Trustees' proposal to renovate Matthews Arena. The renovation will be a $25 million project to add a lobby and recreation and programming spaces to the Arena, while modernizing the rink itself with new seats, lights and audio. The Sense of the Senate included a request for student input on the project and that the project in no way take away from the plans to build a stadium.
