President's Greeting

Greetings Huskies!

Welcome to the Student Government Association, your voice to the administration of Northeastern University. Our organization exists to represent the needs of the student body, and we work year-round to reach out to students and ensure that your concerns are addressed. Some of our accomplishments over the past year include bringing the Die-Hard Dog shirts to every incoming Freshman, advocating for student priorities in the University Budget, working with RSA and HEAT to establish a Renewable Energy Fund, making the TRACE forms electronic, and working to renovate your Curry Student Center this summer.

There are opportunities for every student to get involved in our organization, and what many students do not know is that you do not need to be a Senator to attend Senate or work on projects in committees. Our meetings are open to all students, and we encourage students with concerns or ideas to attend each week. Our committees are open to students-at-large (students who are not Senators) and we know that our work is most-effective when students outside our organization bring their unique perspectives to the table. In fact, many of our committees, such as the Budget Review Committee, have seats reserved specifically for students-at-large.

Please look through our site to learn more about the committees we have, the work we do, and the opportunities that exist for you to become part of one of the most prominent Student Governments in the country. We hope to see you at one of our weekly meetings in the Fall, or one of our bi-weekly meetings over the Summer if you are here in Boston. As always, feel free to contact any of our Executive Board members with questions, concerns, or comments!

Look forward to meeting you,

Rob Ranley
