Derek is a junior Political Science and Economics dual major from Saunderstown, Rhode Island. He has completed one co-op at Goodwin Procter, LLP. Derek enjoys hunting, fishing, sailing, and kayaking. After graduation, Derek plans to attend law school.

Derek has been a member of the Student Government Association since his freshman year. Over the past three years he has served on the Student Affairs, Student Services, Administration & Public Relations, and Senate Nominations and Elections Committees. Last year he served as chair of the Student OSCCR Assessment Committee, which drafted the Student Disciplinary Bill of Rights. At Northeastern, Derek has also served as President and Treasurer of the College Republicans.

As Vice President for Student Affairs, Derek works closely with the Student Activities Office, OSCCR, the Athletics Department, the Office of Off-Campus Student Services, the Office of Institutional Diversity & Equity, and the Office of Student Affairs.

Quick Fixes

A Student alerted Amanda Sabia, VP of Academic Affairs, that a 3-hole punch in the library was misaligned.  Amanda told her contact at the library and the 3-hole punch was adjusted later that day.

SGA will address issues no matter how large or small. If there is something that you see needing fixing, alert us on the I love Northeastern, but... page.

The Student Government Association office is located at 332 Curry Student Center. A representative will be available to assist you during the following hours.
