Branches

The Student Government Association operates under a structure that resembles a parliamentary democracy. Under this model there lies a separation of power, also referred to as a system of checks and balances, in which each branch reserves powers independent of the other branches; checks refers to the ability, right, and responsibility of each branch to monitor the activities of the other branches, while balances refers to the ability of each branch to use its authority to limit the powers of the other branches.
The Student Government Association is comprised of the following branches:

The Executive Branch
The Judicial Branch
The Legislative Branch
